RESEARCH ACTIVITIES:

The research interests of this laboratory focus on animal models for diabetes, the treatment of diabetes and the complications of diabetes such as peripheral neuropathies. Several animal models are being developed and bred for adult onset diabetes (NIDDM). Other chemical models for juvenile onset (IDDM) are also produced and used in a variety of experiments. The complications of diabetes and the prevention of the complications of diabetes through treatment are included as part of most protocols.
